No Picture

Ted Richer

I have no picture of you—

I need one for the coffin.

You could draw it—

Or paint it.

You could take a photograph—

A snapshot—

Or a selfie.

You could make one any size—

Still it must fit my coffin—

A plain wooden box.

You could write a love poem on the back—

Or you could leave it blank.
